According to HousingWire, Alex Vidal has taken on the role of president at REMAX, coming over from his position as brand president at ERA Real Estate. This leadership move happened shortly after The Real Brokerage completed its acquisition of REMAX Holdings, bringing the two companies together under the Real REMAX Group banner. Vidal is stepping into a role that was previously held by Chris Lim, who had taken the position earlier in the year.
Chris Lim announced his transition away from the REMAX president role last week through a LinkedIn post where he expressed gratitude for the opportunity and confidence in the company's future. Rather than leaving the organization entirely, Lim is moving into a new position as Growth Ambassador for the Real REMAX Group, allowing him to remain involved with the combined entity.
Vidal brings significant experience to this new role, with nearly three decades in the real estate industry. He previously made history at ERA Real Estate by becoming the first Hispanic president of a major national real estate brand. Before his time at ERA, Vidal held various leadership positions at firms like Coldwell Banker Realty and Prudential Real Estate. He also founded TheCloserClub back in 2004, a coaching program that has helped tens of thousands of real estate professionals develop their skills and grow their businesses.
Based in Denver, Vidal will oversee the REMAX brand globally and work with the network of more than 145,000 agents that operate under the brand. His responsibilities will include driving growth across different regions, creating tools and services for broker-owners and agents, and helping develop the long-term vision for REMAX alongside other leaders at Real REMAX Group. He will report directly to Tamir Poleg, who serves as CEO of Real REMAX Group.
The leadership restructuring extends beyond just Vidal's appointment. Jenna Rozenblat, who previously served as Real's chief operating officer, has been named president of the Real REMAX Group itself. Additionally, Erik Carlson stepped down as REMAX CEO and has joined the Real REMAX board. The company also announced it would be pausing growth efforts at Motto Mortgage, its mortgage franchise system, and consolidating mortgage operations under a different platform.
What I am seeing locally here in the Bay Area and across the East Bay is that these kinds of national leadership shifts at major brokerages eventually ripple down to how we operate and what tools we have available. When companies like REMAX go through significant restructuring, it affects the agents we work alongside, the support systems they use, and ultimately the service we can provide to our clients. These moves suggest REMAX is trying to strengthen its position by integrating technology and focusing on agent productivity, which is something we should all be watching closely.
