Looking at what went down at eXp Realty's big annual conference in Salt Lake City this year, I want to walk you through what the company is doing to support its agents in this challenging market. According to HousingWire, nearly four thousand agents from twenty countries showed up for the event, and despite mortgage rates being elevated and the housing market facing real headwinds, the mood was energetic and focused on practical solutions.
The main message from eXp leadership was straightforward: we're going to equip you with better tools. The company rolled out several new resources including MCP First, which lets agents connect their workflow to artificial intelligence systems of their choosing, along with ShowGo for managing open houses and showings more efficiently. They also introduced eXp Ready, a program that gives sellers up to fifty thousand dollars in preparation funds with payment deferred until closing. On top of these launches, eXp announced a mortgage joint venture called Revenos Mortgage with Newrez that's set to begin operating in January 2027.
Beyond the new tools, eXp invited some high-profile speakers to challenge agents on how they approach their business. Gary Vaynerchuk, the serial entrepreneur and media executive, delivered a keynote about using social media and AI relentlessly to generate business. He wasn't just talking theory either, sharing that he personally posts hundreds of pieces of content daily across multiple platforms. While he acknowledged most agents won't have that capacity, his core message was that agents need to embrace these tools and get comfortable showing up online or they risk falling behind.
The conference also featured other speakers and breakout sessions hammered on similar themes. There were talks on leveraging ChatGPT and social platforms for business growth, sessions on winning difficult listings like expired properties and for-sale-by-owners, and workshops on hosting events that deepen client relationships. Alongside these business-focused sessions, eXp highlighted stories from top agents who've overcome personal hardships to succeed, positioning resilience as a key mindset for navigating tough times.
What I am seeing locally is that national brokerages like eXp understand that tools and technology alone won't cut it anymore in our market. Here in the Bay Area and East Bay, we're dealing with elevated rates, inventory challenges, and buyers who are far more cautious than they were a few years ago. The brokers who are going to thrive are the ones giving their agents practical resources while also pushing them to think differently about lead generation and client engagement. It's a reminder that in this environment, whether you're selling a property in Fremont or anywhere in our region, both buyers and sellers need representation from agents who are equipped, trained, and actively adapting to how business actually gets done today.
