I came across an interesting story that shows how technology partnerships are making things easier for our MLS community. According to HousingWire, two companies called CubiCasa and Restb.ai have teamed up to offer something valuable to multiple listing services, and it's rolling out with no extra costs to the agents using these platforms.
Here's what caught my attention: if your MLS uses both of these services, you're now eligible for faster floor plan delivery. Instead of waiting the standard 24 hours to get digital floor plans processed, qualifying agents can now expect to see them in less than 12 hours. About 30 MLSs have already qualified for this priority processing right out of the gate.
The two companies handle different parts of the puzzle. Restb.ai uses computer vision technology to turn photos into the structured data that goes into listings, while CubiCasa specializes in turning smartphone scans into actual digital floor plans. Together, they're working with a pretty impressive network. Restb.ai reaches over a million agents across the U.S. and Canada, and CubiCasa has their technology deployed at more than 100 MLSs with millions of floor plans already created.
What makes this arrangement smart, in my view, is that MLSs get to offer their members real value without complicating anyone's workflow. The leadership at Restb.ai explained it well, noting that faster floor plan delivery means agents can prepare listings quicker, sellers get better service, and buyers have access to information sooner. That's a win across the board.
What I am seeing locally in the Bay Area is that anything that streamlines the listing process and gets properties in front of buyers faster tends to help everyone move forward in this market. If your MLS has access to this partnership benefit, it's worth knowing about and using it to your advantage.
