Florida Agency Network expands CertifID use across closings

FAN said the rollout adds direct wire fraud protection to every closing it conducts

East Bay residential neighborhood, California
Curated News BriefBased on original reporting by HousingWire (September 17, 2026). The summary below is the Journal’s; the local analysis is original commentary by Omar Murillo.

According to HousingWire, Florida Agency Network has rolled out an expanded version of CertifID that brings together several important tools into one unified system. The platform now combines identity verification, payoff clearance, wire fraud protection, and closing communication all in a single workflow rather than requiring separate systems to handle each function.

The big benefit here is that wire fraud protection now extends across every closing that FAN conducts. Previously, the firm was using CertifID for identity confirmation and payoff validation before funds moved, but now that protection applies to the entire transaction. The network acquired CloseSimple earlier this year, and that acquisition brought client portal tools and automated communication features into the CertifID platform, which FAN is now deploying throughout its operations.

FAN's technology chief explained that managing fraud prevention and client communication used to mean juggling multiple separate systems, which created headaches for their teams. By consolidating these functions, they can verify identities, clear payoffs, communicate with all parties involved, and collect necessary data without staff members having to manually chase down status updates and information from different platforms.

CertifID's CEO points out that title agencies are facing real pressure to handle higher volumes without adding more staff, and fraudsters keep evolving their tactics. Having fraud prevention built directly into the same system where closing communication happens means protection isn't happening in isolation but is woven into the day-to-day workflow.

What I am seeing locally in the Bay Area and across the East Bay is that title and real estate firms are increasingly looking for these kinds of integrated solutions. Our market has plenty of sophisticated fraud attempts, and anything that helps agents and title companies streamline their operations while adding layers of protection is worth paying attention to. As a broker, I appreciate when the professionals handling my transactions have better tools to keep everyone's money and information safe.
