Curated News BriefBased on original reporting by HousingWire (October 6, 2026). The summary below is the Journal’s; the local analysis is original commentary by Omar Murillo.

According to HousingWire, the publication has brought on Laura Monroe to serve as Head of Industry Relations, where she'll be responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with real estate brokerages, associations, and industry networks across HousingWire's suite of brands, which includes Keeping Current Matters, Altos Research, and RealTrends Verified.

Monroe comes to the role with over twenty years of experience working across real estate, media, events, and technology. Most recently, she served as Chief Strategy and Brand Officer at REALM Global, a luxury real estate professional network, and before that held the position of Director of Industry Engagement at Inman, where she helped grow what became one of the industry's largest communities of agents and brokers.

In her new position, Monroe will represent HousingWire's brands at industry events, develop strategic partnerships, and lead advisory groups that give agents and brokers input into how the company's products are developed and refined. The HousingWire CEO emphasized that Monroe's strength lies in helping professionals focus on what they can actually control, like building relationships and improving their processes, rather than worrying about market conditions outside their influence.

Monroe herself frames her mission around the idea that real growth happens through connection and trust. She sees her role as bringing HousingWire's data, content, and tools directly into the communities where agents and brokers already gather and work, making sure that intelligence reaches the people who need it most.

What I am seeing locally here in the Bay Area and East Bay is that real estate professionals are hungry for authentic connections and trusted resources. When someone like Monroe helps bridge the gap between the tools agents need and the communities where they operate, it strengthens the entire market. For my clients, this kind of industry focus means better support systems for the professionals guiding them through transactions, which ultimately means smoother deals for everyone involved.
