Curated News BriefBased on original reporting by HousingWire (September 22, 2026). The summary below is the Journal’s; the local analysis is original commentary by Omar Murillo.

According to HousingWire, New American Funding has promoted Stacy Chevalier to the position of Northwest regional vice president, effective September first. She'll be responsible for overseeing the company's growth and sales strategy across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. Chevalier joined the lender back in January as an area manager before moving into this expanded leadership role.

Chevalier brings substantial experience to the position, having spent more than two decades working in various aspects of mortgage banking, including retail lending, builder business work, recruiting, and market development. She's built and managed mortgage teams in the Pacific Northwest and beyond, which means she understands the regional landscape where she'll now be operating.

In this new capacity, Chevalier will focus on building out teams and branches, spotting new business opportunities in her region, and helping loan officers develop their own operations. She specifically cited New American Funding's substantial servicing portfolio, its overall scale, and what she sees as an entrepreneurial culture as reasons she chose to join the company.

The company's executive vice president for national retail sales in the West region, Tony Blodgett, noted that Chevalier's leadership approach fits well with New American Funding's values, and that her deep knowledge of the Northwest mortgage market combined with her leadership experience positions her well for the role.

What I'm seeing locally here in the Bay Area and the broader West is that experienced leadership in mortgage lending continues to be valuable, especially as lenders navigate shifting market conditions. Companies bringing in seasoned professionals who understand regional markets and can attract and retain talented loan officers are positioning themselves for the long term, and that kind of stability ultimately benefits buyers and sellers who need reliable local expertise.
